A Week of Goggle Box Goggling

The weekend was too short!

Satruday, went to Calgary to recce possibilities, instead, I saw a movie, ended up buying the dvd of Long Way Round (yes I liked it so much, I bought it and also I’m a motorcycle nut) and then I spied and grabbed this classic dvd series of The Saint Set 2, my oh my, isn’t Roger Moore handsome then? Ahhh the adventures of Simon Templar, I wanna rebuild my book collection of this.

But the highlight of last week as far as dvd’s go, was Wallace & Grommit’s Curse of the Were-Rabbit. A cute and funny movie and also the world’s first vegetarian horror flick….

Then whilst in Calgary, popped over to the multiplex was agonizing over which movie to watch :

MI3

Or

RV

So hard a choice,
action or laughter,
exploding cars or imploding RVs,
adult romance or family bonding

…. Ok Robin Williams won ! laughed my ass off, cried at the daddy/ daughter cliché and a classic stand up routine from ole Robbie in the film. I never get tired of this guy…

A smile big grin on your face beats nail biting anytime.

Comments:
Oh yeah, Curse of the Werewolf was out of this world!! But being me, I would have gone for Mi:III.. with a bar of Ritter.

I would have loved Mission Impossible. Tom Cruise, hmm...

just waiting till i can see MI3.....don't spoil the story for me hor, if you go to see it. so far no sight of RV here in bolehland.

Curse of the WereRabbit! I downloaded that, yet to watch it.

MI:3 I've watched, so I can't give an impartial answer. but judging from your comments, I think you made a great choice to go with Robin instead ;)

I don't really like the "curse of the Werewolf", maybe because the pirated dvd wasn't clear enough so the effect of the movies wasn't nice..

Saint... that looks interesting...

Mission Impossible... love it.. although I prefer the old TV series.

L B,
You need glasses! its curse of the
were-RABBIT!! eh too much chocolate issit? *grin*

Mother Superior,
MI3 i won't remember 2 years down the road... RV won't forget...that fella made me laugh :P

Now you've got me convinced. I'm going to watch RV when it shows here. I'm game for Robin Williams anytime :)

I'm not sure of RV, it's not showing here yet...when asked what movie to watch in the past weekend..what else but Mission Impossible 3....

you should watch it though...not bad i can say!

Were-Rabbit! Gadgetry!
An all-star cast!
Something for everyone and it's so nice...!
*waiting to (ahem) buy DVD*

Oops!! How did Were-Rabbit turn into the Were-Wolf?!!.. Argh...

Hey, I didn't know ROger Moore played Simon Templar. I remembered yrs ago I watched The Saint on TV. The actor was damn hamsen ler... I think his name is Ian Ogilvy or something...

De Book Worm,
*Cheers * RV RV RV RV

Leonard,
Alamak no wonder lah, not showing there yet….

L B
*hands albie a pair of reading glasses .. * too much dough in your eyes lah LOL

Simple American,
Ya ya quick go rent the movies :P

Helen,
Actually Roger was supposed to be the first James Bond, but becos he got tied up in the Saint series Sean Connery got the role and the same thing happened to Pierce Brosnan! He was supposed to replace Roger, but got tied up in Remington Steel! Timothy Dalton got it. Ian Ogilvy was a very late playing saint but he din have the charm leh….

MI3 rules.. hahaha

Oohh..I love Roger Moore as Simon Templer. Very lengchai and the British humour..sooo sexy... I used to read the books too (now the books dunno where already). Val Kilmer was soooooo duh as The Saint..yucks!

Sacrilege, aitelyu, how Brian de Palma made Jim Phelps the bad guy..absolute sacrilege!! Now I boycott the new MI. Should've named it MI:The New Generation or something.

*sniff..sniff* mana karipap? Takda lagi??

RV is good? Mmmmm.. I'll probably wait till it's out on DVD. I'm gonna watch Gromit someday..

I heard MI3 is good but I DETEST Tom Cruise to the core.

Robin,
I prefer MI6 :P

L B,

Jim Phelps as the bad guy, no surprise, see who's the president now...LOL

wait wait I putting my baking cooking on hold, *planning moving* ...

Erika,
Ya ya go watch it...

MI3 is pure action and totally lack the characters of the original MI. watch it for Tom & the fire work.

biker issit? love your janda baik road story...got more to tell or not?

I will catch MI3 since I enjoyed MI1 and 2 (and Tom Cruise), plus I like the theme song! Will catch RV when it screens here. Always enjoy a good comedy and a good laugh.
